Right then...
It's been a while! I contemplated deleting off the old stuff and starting again from scratch, but what the heck, leave them there!
This is just a short port for my blog which I will hopefully look back on (if I do actually keep this up) and see as a bit of a turning point in the whole process of sticking to reviewing games.
Right then (again)...
Since last time I have been playing many, many, MANY games.
One that really stands out and it's one I go back to time and time again, is Rocket League
I've currently got about 60 hours playtime on the game, across both Steam on PC and on the Xbox. The fact I've bought it twice, with a potential third on the switch, just shows the type of game it is. The very basic concept of it is playing football (soccer) with cars... which also have rockets! You can either play anywhere between 1 on 1 to 4 on 4, with other "experimental" features such as ice hockey and basketball.
This game can be addictive. The season mode can be very easy, but it really doesn't prepare you for the online leagues, which can have an incredible skill curve (luckily there is a casual online play to just chill with!).
Its constantly updating and being tweaked, meaning there is a huge online community behind it all. Even though there is DLC for more cars, including ones such as the batmobile, this doesn't really effect game play, as there isn't much of a noticeable difference between the cars to make if fair to those who don't way to pay more for the game. Other purchasable extras are decals for your cars, rocket trails, wheel.... the list goes on and on, but you can often earn a lot of the items in game. It does have loot boxes though, with keys, so take what you want from that!
Pros:

Pros:
- A very fun game
- Very re-playable
- Can just drop in and out and don't need to spend to long playing
- Its addictive
- Split screen and local play!
Cons:
- Online game play can lead to toxic interactions with players
- lots of DLC, loot boxes and little things which just scream money making
I would certainly recommend this game. I have bought it, twice. Its a sports game with a twist, with a high skill ceiling but one that anyone can just pick up and have a go. Its often on sale, and its basically on every gaming device!
Cheers all
